Not another story of how I’ve helped one of my mentees at least double their income I hear you groan… Uhuh, it is!
But how?
Well, I am glad you asked, cus here’s what happened…
Rosemarie started working with me when she was a fairly new service based business owner, she had already been running her own Yoga business for a few years and had recently started a VA business alongside it.
Rosemarie loved her Yoga business but wanted to make her VA business her main source of income. But, she found it hard letting the Yoga business go. It was a kind of security blanket financially, but at the same time holding back the progression of her VA business.
She was at that difficult crossroads of knowing when to let the comfort blanket go and jump. When money is a factor it can be a very scary thing to do.
You know how it is… We all sometimes have an element in our lives that is comfortable but pulling us from progression. I had to prise this Yoga business (security blanket) from Rosemarie, but it had to be done gently so that it was the right time for her.
Anyway, here’s exactly what I advised Rosemarie to do to get rid of that comfort blanket and start making her VA business the main source of income. and how it enabled Rosemarie to achieve her goal and beyond:
- Niching (no more trying to promote the yoga business and the VA business, we made the main thing the main thing – you can’t give your audience mixed messages otherwise you look like a Jack of all trades and master of none)
- Greater confidence (as more and more clients stay with Rosemarie long term, others recommend her and she can see her income getting higher, Rosemarie’s confidence increases)
- Greater visibility (because Rosemarie’s confidence has soared she’s able to not overthink her social media presence and thus the leads come in because she’s getting known for what she does)
- Learning to say no (It’s scary saying no, but we have to sometimes otherwise we work ourselves into the ground and end up taking on too much. Rosemarie and I are still working on this, but she does it sometimes so we’re getting there)
- Upping her hourly rate (this took some convincing but we got there)
- Learning to be kinder with her own time (she realises she’s just as important as her clients – most of the time!)
As a result of Rosemarie implementing my advice her income has increased by 137% and, at time of writing this case study, she’s looking for a team to work with her as she’s at capacity!
Remember, I just advise as a mentor – it’s the mentee who implements that sees results!
Is Rosemarie real? Hell yeah, connect with her here on LinkedIn.
I don’t just work with VAs, hell no, I work with all manner of service based business owners; coaches, mentors, project managers, website developers, marketing strategists, the list goes on. Work with me here
